86K1260 RING.  Oil scraper bottom piston ring.  Fitted to ’98 series engines in tractors, buses commercial vehicles and boat engines

During production of early Leyland 4/98 and Leyland 6/98 five ring piston engines, the bottom oil scraper ring in the skirt groove was omitted but could be fitted later.
See the attached Service Bulletin from Leyland Truck and Bus division which was distributed to UK Leyland Distributors, Leyland Dealers and Leyland Fleet operators in 1971.

The fifth ring groove was subsequently discontinued with the introduction of the turbo engines.

Specifications: To fit 98 mm Bore.  Width 4.78 mm.
