| John Charnley and Sons are a leading suppliers of spare parts for British Leyland Tractors including Nuffield, Leyland, Marshall, JWD and also BMC and Perkins engine components. Mr John Charnley started mending machinery for local farmers in a small shed on the family farm in Lancashire when he was a teenager in the 1950's and the company and it's expertise has grown from these small beginnings. The company has always had an enthusiasm for British Products and is proud of it's link with the last British built tractor. William and David Charnley joined their father in the late 70's and the company now employs an enthusiastic staff team who are always ready to help. When the British Leyland mark began to disintegrate in the late 70's, Charnleys' belief in Leyland Tractors was so strong that they were determined to continue to provide a backup for the many Leyland enthusiasts around the world. Consequently they undertook to purchase any stocks of parts that became available. In the 90's Charnleys further developed and improved technical details on the tractors. Primarily they successfully improved the Borg and Beck clutch featured on the Marshall models. An improvement which was patented and has since saved hours of workshop time! In 2004 Charnleys purhased the remaining spares stocks that Marshall Tractors held. |
